A short run of 11 miles through the WV panhandle including Wheeling, I'd say I-70 is a very strange road. Through the Wheeling Tunnel, the mighty I-70 westbound is reduced to one lane (the other lane is an exit only and there no passing in the tunnel, which is strictly enforced). I-70 is mostly a tight four-lane 1960's-style freeway through Wheeling; east of Wheeling is more open. I-70 through Wheeling is an interesting ride, heading east just over the Ohio border you cross a long viaduct, then the steel arch bridge over the Ohio River, followed by a quick, tight exit to downtown, then the Tunnel and as you exit the tunnel an interesting interchange with US 250 with I-70 again being elevated for a short stretch.
