This reviews covers I-95 south from the Capital Beltway (I-495) in Springfield south to downtown Richmond. With the widening from four to six lanes (or more) during the 1980's, I-95 moves well through northern and central Virginia at a 65 MPH clip, though given the continued growth of the Washington metropolitan area, an HOV lane extension south to Fredericksburg soon may become a reality.

The wooded landscape along I-95 makes for a pleasant drive, though the preponderance of billboards in rural areas (not really seen on I-95 north of Washington) take away from this experience somewhat.
