Unlike its sister - the Meadowbrook Parkway - just a few miles to the west, the Wantagh Parkway moves freely throughout. However, the four-lane section between the Northern State and Southern State is a bit congested - it carries about 65,000 vehicles per day - though typically it is not jammed. Most of the time, the Wantagh Parkway is a good alternative to the congested Meadowbrook Parkway.
