The Meadowbrook Parkway is a tale of two different roads. Between the Northern State and Southern State parkways, the Meadowbrook is a heavily traveled commuter road serving the Roosevelt Field-Mitchel Field (known increasingly as the "Nassau Hub") shopping and entertainment area. Combined with beach-bound traffic, this section of the Meadowbrook is a parking lot on weekends, and could benefit from extended C/D roads. South of the Southern State Parkway, the Meadowbrook Parkway moves a bit more freely. South of Merrick Road, the parkway has a beach-like feel, and features replica wooden lightposts.
